Today we will learn to make Mumbai-style grilled sandwiches without the help of a griller, and how to prepare the Sandwich Masala, special Green and Red chutney that is used in it very easily.
Sandwich Masala for Grilled Sandwich
- Keep the Pan on low Flame and put these ingredients in it.
- Jeera (Cumin Seeds) – 2TBSP
- Cloves (Laung) – 1TBSP
- Kali Mirch (Black Peppercorn) – 1TBSP
- Saunf (Fennel Seeds) – 1TBSP
- Roast these spices on low flame until an aroma starts coming out. Then put them in a bowl and let them cool.
- Now transfer them to a grinder jar and add some more spices along with them.
- Amchur Powder (Dry Mango Powder) – 1 TBSP
- Anardana Powder (Dry Pomegranate Powder) – 1 TBSP
- Saunth (Ginger Powder) – 1/2TBSP
- Hing (Asafoetida) – 1/2TBSP
- Kaala Namak (Black Salt) – 1TBSP
- Namak (Salt) – 4TBSP
- Grind them using a Mixer Grinder. Now our Sandwich Masala is ready only in 5 minutes. (We can store it in Air tight container and can use it for 1-2 months)
Note: If you add Chaat Masala instead of Sandwich Masala, it will not taste so good because Chaat masala is more salty.
Green Chutney recipe for Grilled Sandwich
- Now take these ingredients into the Blending Jar.
- Fresh Coriander leaves: 1 Big Bunch
- Spinach Leaves: 6-7 Leaves
- Green Chillies: 1-2
- Garlic: 5-6 Cloves
- Curry Leaves: 10-12
- Sandwich Masala: 1/2TBSP
- Roasted Chana Dal: 1TBSP
- Ice Cubes: 2-3
- Salt to Taste
- Minimum Water
- Grind them into Blending Jar to make Chutney and Spicy Green Chutney will be ready in a few minutes. Don’t use Pudina(mint) in it.
Red Garlic Chutney recipe for Grilled Sandwich
- Now take these ingredients into the Blending Jar.
- Kashmiri Red Chillies(Soaked): 10-12
- Spicy Red Chillies(Soaked): 8-10
- Garlic: 8-10 cloves
- Jeera Powder: 1TBSP
- Black Salt: 1/2TBSP
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Salt to taste
- Water as required
- Grind them in a blending Jar to make a fine paste and Red Garlie Chutney will be ready. Keep it in the refrigerator to make it cool.
Now chop some Vegetables before Grilling the Sandwich. Chop some Onions, Capsicum and Tomatoes.
Now we are ready to Make the Mumbai style Grilled Sandwich with all the required Masala and Chutneys.
Steps to make Mumbai Style Veg Grilled Sandwich
- Take a Bread slice.
- Apply Butter and green spicy chutney over it.
- Sprinkle grated potato and Sandwich Masala and chopped Onions on the whole slice of bread.
- Now take a second slice
- Apply Butter and green Chutney on it and Place it over the previously prepared bread.
- Apply Red chutney on the second slide and place Chopped Tomatoes, Sandwich Masala, Capsicum, and Cheese on the whole slice.
- Now take a third slice
- Apply Green chutney on the inner side and place it over the layer of Cheese and apply Butter on the Outer side.
- Now our sandwich is ready to Cook.
Steps to Cook the Sandwich
- Use a grill pan or normal pan for grilling the sandwich.
2. Heat the pan. Place the Sandwich butter side down on the pan with low flame.
3. Use a plate to press the Sandwich to replicate the grill machine.
4. Keep pressed for 30-60 seconds, Cook it until Crisp and Golden Brown.
5. Now Apply butter on the other side of the Sandwich and cook it by pressing it with a plate.
6. Now our Crispy Grilled Sandwich is Ready to serve.
7. Serve it with the Green and Red Chutneys prepared above.
